Necklace and Earing Tree

So I have been having some major issues with my necklaces getting tangled up, and my beautiful feather earrings getting ruined, so I decided to solve the problem. I made a Necklace Tree. It was quite simple to make. I went into a forest and picked up a bunch of broken twigs, then got a piece of drift wood and drilled a hole in it. I then hot glue gunned the twigs into the drift wood. I think it turned out to be awesome!

Knitted Hats

Last year I took up knitting as a hobby to take a break from school, and I found out how much I loved knitting hats. Here are some of the ones that I knitted. I will list them in the order that they were knitted. It is pretty obvious that I improved as time went on...

Christmas Sugar Cookies

So I have done ALOT of baking in the past so I will be slowly updating all of those onto here before I get to the new recipes I try.

Here are my traditional Christmas sugar cookies. Since I remember I have been making sugar cookies every year before christmas. Starting out with my mom when we were kids. Now i have become creative and do them myself with unique designs, etc.

These cookies are from a few years back. I will posting the more current ones soon from this past Christmas 2011!

T-Shirt Blanket

Top Side of the Blanket

About a month ago I decided to clean out my closet and decide which shirts I wanted to keep and which ones I wanted to donate. What I didn't realise, was how attached I was to some of my shirts. I had shirts saved from the past 10 years! All with good memories associated with them. Like my old volleyball t-shirt, or my twilight shirt (lame, I know, but it was so awesome 4 years ago). So instead of donating them, or throwing them out, I decided to make a blanket out of them. It's not a huge blanket, but is awesome for keeping my feet warm at the end of the bed!

Back Side of the Blanket

All I did to make the blanket was cut the t-shirts into squares/rectangles. I took a square from both the front and the back of the shirt. Then I had an old fleece blanket lying around so I cut equal squares of fleece to sew to the shirt pieces. Once all of my squares were cut out and layed out in the design that I wanted, I began to sew them together. I sewed a back piece of the shirt, with a layer of fleece, then the front (picture) part of the shirt together. Then I sewed all the squares together to make a blanket. I think that the end result was pretty decent for my first attempt at a blanket!

Cupcake Cake Pops

Here are my first attempt at cake pops, in the style of mini cup cakes! They took foreverrr but turned out amazing, in taste and presentation. I used a chocolate cake base with buttercream icing for the cake balls. For future reference chocolate cake and cake pops covered in chocolate, a little too much chocolate. I would suggest the confetti cake mix for these cup cake style pops. Hint: if you want you can dye the icing a colour so when you bite in they aren't just white! When making these form the cake balls more round at the top and thiner at the bottom. Dip the bottoms in the plain milk chocolate first, then insert stick, put back in fridge to set, then dip in coloured chocolate and immediately put sprinkles and m&m on top! store in fridge until ready to eat!

Melted Crayon Art Attempt #1

I have recently noticed that other craft blogs are posting pictures of this amazing melted crayon art. While I was skimming these blogs for interesting ideas, this melted crayon art always stuck out to me. I think it is mainly because it's so vibrant and colorful. And also that it reminds me of the good old days, where losing a specific crayon color was the only major problem I had to worry about. Goodtimes.

Anyways, I thought I would try this out for myself and see how it turned out. Since my favorite color is green, I decided to find all of my green crayons and give it a try. Most of the shades of greens melted into beautiful colors, with the exception of "asparagus green". But that was kind of expected.

After the melting was complete, I turned the canvas upside down and decided I could add to it. So I added a bunch of foam flowers that I had laying around, and the final product turned out to be a beautiful flower garden!

Hope you like it!
