T-Shirt Blanket

Top Side of the Blanket

About a month ago I decided to clean out my closet and decide which shirts I wanted to keep and which ones I wanted to donate. What I didn't realise, was how attached I was to some of my shirts. I had shirts saved from the past 10 years! All with good memories associated with them. Like my old volleyball t-shirt, or my twilight shirt (lame, I know, but it was so awesome 4 years ago). So instead of donating them, or throwing them out, I decided to make a blanket out of them. It's not a huge blanket, but is awesome for keeping my feet warm at the end of the bed!

Back Side of the Blanket

All I did to make the blanket was cut the t-shirts into squares/rectangles. I took a square from both the front and the back of the shirt. Then I had an old fleece blanket lying around so I cut equal squares of fleece to sew to the shirt pieces. Once all of my squares were cut out and layed out in the design that I wanted, I began to sew them together. I sewed a back piece of the shirt, with a layer of fleece, then the front (picture) part of the shirt together. Then I sewed all the squares together to make a blanket. I think that the end result was pretty decent for my first attempt at a blanket!
